Work Out DVDs And What To Expect

The content in a work out DVD is the same in a work out video. There will be about at least a half an hour of exercise routines that will guide you as you follow along at home. They aren’t all made the same way, however, as these DVDs come from different fitness-promoting companies who have completely different styles of teaching methods.

There are so many different fitness instructors that you will find when you pop the DVD in. There will be male instructors, female instructors, group instructors–all with different styles and personalities that show through the TV. It is definitely a wide assortment that ranges from a pleasant-sounding woman with plenty of positive feedback on your appearance to a no-frills-sounding man with nothing but tough love for your last 60 seconds of intense ab crunches.

You may realize that you picked out a good work out DVD when you are going at the pace you want, with the instructor guiding you at that same pace. It also helps if the instructor’s “studio” stage creates the right mood for the style of workout, whether it looks like a pilates studio or an industrial-looking bodybuilding gym.

In a majority of the time, there will be a handful of other people doing the exercise moves next to (or behind) the main instructor. They are acting as guides so you can follow along better as you may feel unsure of how exactly to do the work out steps.

While these men and women are following the instructor, they are also varying the movements (the instructor should be pointing this out). The movements will range from an easy adjustment (for people with joint issues), to a very difficult variation (for people who want to push themselves even harder).

While some work out DVD programs will show that none of these folks are sweating, others will show that the folks are clearly struggling and gasping for a water break. It is all up to the director whose beliefs can go either way about what is best for you, the consumer, should and would see as you are busting your own bum for an hour.

While all of these DVDs are so different from each other, it is actually a huge benefit to you! Why? Because you get to mix and match these work outs to your liking, since it is in your own gym. You end up saving a lot of money since the cost overall will be cheaper and cheaper the more you use the DVDs. This is unlike paying for a big gym membership, where the cost is your gas, your commute time, and the monthly payments you will keep making (whether you use the gym or not).

What’s also neat is the ability for you to change the exercise regimen up to your liking. You know that you may get bored with one part of the program, and you may like the other parts better. Or, you may fall in love with the entire program (and love the fitness results so much) that you will end up using the entire set of DVDs all over again.
