Achieving arm tone doesn’t have to be an uphill battle for you. Unfortunately for me, It was an uphill battle.

And the most difficult part of the whole arm tone war was an unstable level of motivation. Despite all my efforts, I could not stick with a program for a very long time.

And at times I would reach tipping points, throw my hands up in the air and give up all hope. Then, I would reward myself with endless cookies.

But I had a wake-up call and came to the conclusion that this type of mental lifestyle was not going to get me the sexy arms I so desperately wanted.

So I began doing lots of research. And I’m happy to say that the research was well worth it because I found the answer to my problem: the one and only David Burns M.D. He created a system for optimizing thought processes. Said system required the avoidance of thought distortions.

So without further delay, here are 3 cognitive distortions you need to avoid that you don’t fall of the arm tone bandwagon:

1. Black and white distortions. If you are a perfectionist, you most likely suffer from these distortions. If you have to do something perfectly or not at all, then you see things as black and white. Ironically, if you ignore perfectionism and lower your standards you’ll get better results.

2. Over generalizing distortions. This one is based on the faulty assumption that if something happened to you in the past it will keep on happening again and again in the future. You may tell yourself, for instance, that since you haven’t been able to lose weight in the past you will never be able to lose weight in the future and every program out there simply won’t work for you.

3. Mental filtering distortion. This distortion is pure evil because it prevents you from giving yourself enough credit, a critical component to success. For example, let’s say you have an entire month of solid workouts but miss one workout due to a last-minute commitment. Instead of giving yourself praise for the awesome month of workouts, you ignore them and beat yourself up for the single missed workout that was entirely out of your control.

Keep the above distortions in mind and make sure you avoid them at all costs. Doing so will allow you to win the mental “arm tone” war. In the end, the person with the highest level of motivation always wins.

More importantly, however, is to develop the habit of rapid action. After all, this information will be useless unless you act on it quickly.

Can cardiovascular exercise help you lose more weight?

It seems as though there is a constant battle between fitness gurus as to whether or not one needs to do cardiovascular work in order to lose weight. And if they can’t reach a consensus, how are you supposed to decide if it’s worthwhile?

Well, if you look at the research there is no doubt that cardiovascular work can increase fat loss. Here are five ways that cardiovascular work can help you lose more fat:

1. A bigger heart. If your heart is bigger, you can do more exercise without getting as tired. And a bigger heart will pump more oxygen throughout your body which will give you more energy.

2. More blood in your body. Blood is the liquid of life because it transports all the vital nutrients necessary for work to the different tissues in your body. And if you have more of it, you can get a lot more physical work done.

3. Higher capillary density. Capillaries transport blood to your muscle tissues. Think of this as having more trucks to get your cargo (blood) to where it needs to go. Again, more blood will increase flow and help burn fat at a faster rate than normal.

4. Increased mitochondrial density. Mitochondria are the actual factories in your cells where energy is produced. The more factories you have, the more energy you can make on demand. And remember that more energy will help you shed the weight faster.

5. A lot more enzymes. The more enzymes the better because they actually accelerate the process of energy creation in your body. And the good news is that cardiovascular work increases their concentration, which in turn will help you burn more calories.

The research seems to indicate that cardiovascular exercise is a good way to lose weight at a faster rate. So it’s probably in your best interest to start including it in your program.

Having said that, figuring out the perfect amount can be less obvious. After all, if you go overboard you can prevent your body from recovering. In the end, you’re best served doing an amount that allows you to remain energetic and fully able to recover from weight lifting workouts.

There is a reason why Sylvester Stallone is a chronic user of growth hormone, because it works. Considered the fountain of youth, this hormone is responsible for major repair in your body.

And the good news is that growth hormone accelerates toning because of enhanced lipolysis. In other words, in enhances fat loss.

Thus, here are 5 ways to naturally increase your growth hormone levels for faster weight loss:

1. Reduce rest intervals: By reducing the amount of rest you get in between exercise sets, you will increase the metabolic demand and in turn, amplify growth hormone output. Now I would like to point out that decreasing rest isn’t easy, but it’s very effective.

2. Slow down digestion of food: This in turn will reduce blood sugar levels. And lower blood sugar levels promote an increase in growth hormone secretion. So make sure you really load up on lots of vegetables and high fiber carbs.

3. Activate more muscle mass: In other words, doing bicep curls all day is not the best way to increase overall growth hormone levels. Instead, use movements that activate a lot of muscle mass for best results here. Just make sure you learn the basics first.

4. Increase intensity: Now there are a lot of variables you can manipulate to increase intensity. And the more variety of manipulation you implement, the better results you will get. For instance, you could increase the complexity of exercises, reduce rest periods, use more weight, etc.

5. Guard your down time: Specifically, you want to make sure you are getting the best sleep possible. After all, the bulk of growth hormone is secreted when you sleep. So make sure you really focus on this. Even better, deep sleep will keep you in a more positive mood.

Getting your natural production of growth hormone to reach peak capacity is one of the best things you can do for enhanced weight loss. So take action here today, not tomorrow!

It’s not impossible to burn extra body fat when you are resting. And this approach is the fastest and most efficient way to get in shape.

The problem here is that most people do not know what it takes to reach this level of passive fat loss.

Thus, here is how to incinerate extra body fat when you are resting:

1. Prioritize compound and heavy movements: This is a great way to target the big power muscles in your body. With this approach you are hitting the major movers hard. And the more muscle you activate the more fat burning hormones you will produce after your workout.

2. Always strive to do more: By always pushing yourself, you will further increase the oxygen debt from exercise. And this debt has to be paid back with calories. Essentially, the harder you push yourself in the gym, the less work you have to do outside of the gym.

3. Activate all the little stabilizers: In addition to using the heavy compound movements. This will help you burn an additional amount of calories. It’s like topping off your gas tank. Just make sure you don’t prioritize stabilizing movements over heavy, compound movements.

4. Bring those rest periods down: By ever reducing your rest periods, you create a situation where your oxygen debt increases by leaps and bounds. The effect of this will be increased body temperature and more calories burned even while you sleep.

5. Eat before exercising: Not only is exercising on an empty stomach painful, but it actually decreases fat loss through a wide variety of mechanisms. Even worse, you can’t crank up the intensity if you are running on empty.

It is possible to burn extra fat while you are resting. The key here is to push yourself as hard as you can when you are exercising in order to get this benefit. In the end those that work the hardest will get the best results.

We live in a day and age where information is more accessible and available than ever before. But with all this information comes a major issue: horrible advice.

Now if you fall prey to the bad advice, you may never end up with the body you want. And in the worst case scenario, you could potentially lose all resolve to keep moving forward.

Thus, without further ado, here are fat loss mistakes you need to be aware of:

1. Doing squat movements with improper spinal alignment: Most often, women make the common mistake of squatting with the head drooped downwards. Well, it’s absolutely critical that you squat with your eyes level. If you don’t, you could end up with some nasty lower back injuries.

2. Doing cardio on a treadmill: Cardio on a tread mill can place a lot of repetitive stress on your joints and it mainly focuses on working your lower body. For a much safer and effective cardio workout, use machines that work your entire body like an elliptical.

3. Not training outside of comfortable levels of intensity: Intensity is the name of the game when it comes to getting in shape. And if you don’t constantly push the envelope of your training, you will never get the physique you are looking for.

4. Training abs first: You should not train your abs first thing in a workout. Doing so will compromise your ability to lift heavier weights with more complex exercises. And being able to go heavy is necessary for maximum fat loss. So make sure you don’t train abs first thing in any of your workouts.

5. Focusing too heavily on balance: Balance is important, but not as important as you may think. Because of fitness centers, too many women are hoping on the balance bandwagon. Unfortunately, training for balance will only get you so far. For maximum fat loss, you have to work your entire body with compound movements that burn lots and lots of calories.

Training for maximum fat loss involves ignoring all the misinformation out there. By doing so, you will get the body you deserve while staying healthy. So take action here today!

Obtain free and valuable information on the best arm toning exercises engineered for women immediately by going to Katherine Crawford’s M.S. website Sleeveless in 7.

The majority of change in your body will happen when you train on the fringe of your abilities. In other words, the more time you spend training at your limit, the more weight you will lose.

Yet, most people fail to push themselves hard enough because of fear. Perhaps you don’t have the body you want because of fear.

So here is how to take your workouts to the next level:

1. Disrupt your routine: You don’t need a major change here, but taking small steps to make yourself uncomfortable will eventually desensitize you to the discomfort associated with change. This may seem a little intimidating at first, but you have to start somewhere.

2. Write down the risks: By quantifying the risks of going to the next level, more often than not, you will notice that they just aren’t that great. The key here is to not let the risks, or fear, linger in your mind’s eye. Write them down and they will lose their power.

3. Train in your mind’s eye: Visualization works, research has proven this time and again. And not only does it provide psychological advantages, but it also primes your nervous system for the next level of training. So make it a habit to visualize the next level right before you are about reach it.

4. Attack the new routine piecemeal: If there is a new style of training you want to try, don’t go for it all in one workout. Slowly incorporate the elements into your existing routine so that you don’t have to jump into the deep end, so to speak.

5. Tap into your social support: Having social support is a great way to empower yourself for changing. You see, we are all social beings and tapping into social power is a great way to get to the next level. Even better, enlist a training partner that is already at the level you seek.

The information highways are flooded with information on how to lose fat. Unfortunately, a lot of this information will not get you the body you want.

Now most people do not have the necessary education to separate the good from the bad. And I don’t recommend you get a PhD in dieting either.

Thus, here are 5 tips for taking your diet to the next level:

1. Read labels: Don’t rely on the packaging alone because there are loopholes which allow companies to make misleading claims. Instead, always read the nutrition facts to see exactly what is going into your body. Here are some terms you want to avoid: enriched, bleached or refined flour, partially hydrogenated and corn syrup.

2. Reduce saturated fats as much as possible: Even if you are eating within your target caloric range, you should still strive to reduce saturated fats. You see, these types of fats reduce the amount of nutrients that go into your active tissues, thus feeding your fat cells. Moreover, they age your arteries.

3. Drink before eating: This accomplishes two things. First, you will prevent your body from mistaking thirst signals for hunger signals. Second, you will enhance the digestion of whatever you eat by staying well hydrated.

4. Minimize alcohol consumption: In terms of alcohol, it’s not just about calories. It’s more about the impact it has on your hormones. You see, too much alcohol will blunt the amount of hormones your body produces. So make sure you minimize the damage here.

5. Have a worst-case-scenario-meal: It’s impossible to diet perfectly all the time. There will be times when your hunger simply overtakes you. The key here is to minimize the damage. And I’ve found that having a high fat and high protein meal does the trick just fine. You see, staying away from carbs is critical when this happens.

You should constantly strive to improve your diet piecemeal. If you do this, you will eventually end up with a very clean eating routine. So make sure you start implementing these tips today!
